The Fallout series has several eras to consider when you’re thinking about the video games. The first is the classical era, which contains Fallout 1 & 2 along with Fallout Tactics. Starfield, which has been the hallmark moniker for “Toddslop,” has set the bar for future Bethesda games fairly low. Starfield’s launch has been met with a considerable amount of negative reception and I fully expect that Elder Scrolls 6 will meet the same fate. To succinctly put my point: Skyrim will remain the gold standard and Elder Scrolls 6 will fall as flat as Starfield has. That is unless Bethesda does some major restructuring with their creative design. Skyrim is where this series will rest on its laurels forever, unless innovation comes fast. Helldiver’s 2 is a multiplayer game at the core and the game purposefully limits content behind group play. You can solo difficulties 1-4 depending on your level, but it becomes much harder at difficulty 5 to go alone. You may not have a squad of four team mates at the ready to dive with you and it can be really intimidating to join a game with random folks from the ‘net. The first thing you should do is relax and come to terms with the fact that there isn’t always going to be perfect lobbies. Some players are going to be looking for teams with stratagems that align to their playstyle or whatever, but thankfully that only occurs at the highest difficulities where success can be dependent on the build. Beyond Sunset is a fairly decent retro cyberpunk shooter and a fantastical journey through the story and sound, provided by Karl Vincent of a wild cyberpunk world. The world is bleak but so full of character, embodying the idea of synthwave / cyberpunk aesthetics weaved with a lot of DOOM. This review covers the November 2023 Early Access Build. This is one of the few games where the smooth door animations actually impress me. A world built around a strong cyberpunk theme waits for players to jump and slide their way through its streets and towering mega-skyscrapers. Age of Empires II (AoE II) remains strong after its 2019 release, remaining high on the top played Steam games through 2021 and even through 2023. It’s both an eSports title of kind as competitive PvP is a big scene and friends everywhere are reliving playing both PvE and PvP in AoE II. The following tier list is both for LAND and SEA.
