Tier lists are some of the most shared content around in the FGC and most other competitive titles. It has gotten to the point that they’ve memeed their way into pretty much everything. Cereals? There are tier lists for that, cars? Brands of soft drinks, tier lists styles themselves? It all has a tier list waiting to be developed. Of course, the concept didn’t originate in the FGC. It comes from traditional sports, and even beyond that, it is a handy way to segment things into various categories, in the case of tier lists that are often the quality of each item more often than not. But an element that is discussed a lot whenever new tier lists pop up is not so much their validity but who they are intended for. Are they for Pro players? Seriously, the Mario enemies weirdest part isn’t the fact that he’s still in a pot…

Now I’m sure people are tired of hearing about GOTY talk and now that it’s a new year I’m sure you thought that you were safe finally, well GOTCHA. Honestly, I absolutely love to argue, well more of debate topics back and forth with both sides bringing up good points and supporting those points with sound logic then waiting while the other person does the same, or at the very least yelling that doesn’t end in fights, tears or both. So obviously all of the game of the year talk had me ready to grab a drink and some cough drops but I personally feel that it’s unfair to decide a true game of the year before January, but now that the first of the year has passed lets get down to the nitty-gritty of why GoW still reigns supreme. First let’s talk about some of the challengers to the…
