The top RPGs from the 1990s onward are essential for fans, redefining the genre’s standards. Skyrim offers expansive moddable gameplay, while The Witcher 3 delivers impactful choices and story. Final Fantasy VII is celebrated for its narrative, and Ocarina of Time is notable for immersive play. Mass Effect set precedents with its narrative and gun-based action. These games exemplify the transformative escapism RPGs provide, setting benchmarks for future titles.

Slay the Princess is a visual novel game that has taken some time to develop. It has had three major releases so far. The first which was strictly chapter 1. The second demo was chapter 1 and chapter 2. The full release of the game includes chapter 3 and the various endings in the game. In our guide we go over the story and various endings in this deep psychological visual novel that has a lot to think on and over 15 hours of content, all voice acted. It’s a mix of The Stanely Parable and every one of your favorite visual novel games, really. Without further explanation, here’s our story and endings explained: Story Explained The game has multiple routes and paths that you can take, each one resulting in a different ending. No matter the route, the game’s very first start is always the protagonist waking up in…

Diablo IV has a very anticlimactic ending that may leave you scratching your head if the game is really over or what has occurred. It may not make a lot of sense at first, but there’s a few things at play when it comes to the ending. We’ll go first over the ending itself literally then take a figurative look at what all of this means for Sanctuary. Quick Note: For the backstory on Lilith, Inarius and Sanctuary see sort of “Part 1” which goes over the events before the game. We’re going to dive right into the ending, which kicks off towards the very end of Diablo IV. How Does Diablo IV End? Inarius and Lilith were both, from the player character’s point of view, insane from their time exiled. Inarius had been in hell for a few millennia per Lorath (which holds the canon from the books still)…

There’s a lot in the world of Final Fantasy. I mean a lot. There are a total of 13 mainstream non-MMO games and a ton of spinoffs like the Crystal Chronicles, Tactics, etc. I’ve recently gone on a binge of replaying some of the older titles and it’s made me go huh – how would you even get started in the series. If you started for instance at FF8, it would be so confusing. I wouldn’t think much of the series. I started with FF1 and FF3 (US) and skipped until 10, 12, and then went back to 7 and 8 which made them all make a lot more sense than if I just started with 7 or 8. So I’ve put together my thoughts on the best order to play and various issues with some of the games. These are my opinions and are not universally shared. For some,…

When I had cable as a young lad I would rush home and get to the television, a small heap of plastic, glass and clunky noises that was a combination VHS and TV. It was programmed to record DragonBall Z, Sailor Moon and ReBoot so that I wouldn’t have to worry about missing them when I got home from school. Both DBZ and ReBoot would often be on hiatus, meaning that there was nothing to watch and even when finished, there was still a lot of boring TV on at the time, yet there was sort of a nifty solution: TechTV Starting in 1998 I had a chance to watch something really neat – ZDTV, which would evolve later into TechTV. TechTV was a dedicated channel to everything the Internet, gaming and technology. It was like a tech magazine turned into a real life TV show. It’s where you could…

Katamari Damacy is a unique puzzle game that involves you taking a ball and rolling it through anywhere from on top of a table all the way to the world itself and in later renditions, the universe itself. The ball, as it grows, can pick up bigger items, which causes an interesting snowball effect – the bigger the ball, the faster the size of it can increase. That’s it. That is all there is to it. There are a total of five console games: Katamari Damacy (also Katamari Reroll)We Love Katamari (PS2)Me and My Katamari (PSP)Beautiful Katamari (Xbox 360) (25th best selling Xbox 360 game in Japan)Katamari Forever (PS3) (compilation game) There were a few mobile games as well but the only thing currently out is Amazing Katamari which is an infinite runner. Touch My Katamari, for the vita, could technically be included in the list but it was really…

The Internet is ravenous for something to be conflicted about and right now it’s the Final Fantasy 7 remake. Why? Because it’s apparent that Square Enix is going in another direction with FF7. The recent trailer shows a different game than FF7, something that looks to be real time action based vs. turn based like the original. It also shows cutscenes from the original that diverse greatly from how they looked in the original. To put it simply, Final Fantasy VII: Remake won’t be a remastered version of FF7 but instead a remade one. Is this bad? I mean, look at StarCraft: Remastered. It’s like, an okay game right. The graphics are a bit easier on the eyes. It’s nice. Just sort of nice. Blizzard did a super careful job of keeping it the same game, just with prettier graphics and working out of the box in Windows 10. Nice…
