The fall chill was in the air, in 2007. It was another Hallow’s End and the decorations, quests and festivities in World of Warcraft were the exact spirit of Halloween. The world felt like a fantasy novel had come alive and the holiday had this sense of true meaning. Now it’s as if a holiday is more side quests, you don’t really want to mess with unless the game offers some kind of inresistable reward for the effort. With the live-action trend happening in movies today, it’s no surprise that a Sonic the Hedgehog movie is going down. The character design was recently leaked, and I must say that it was a little shocking to me. I’ll let you be the judge yourself. The image of Sonic was released but then taken down by the movie marketing company. Maybe the design will be revamped due to a backlash on social media; I’m not sure. Personally, I am not a fan of the design. I think it looks weird and whacky and is a poor representation of Sonic. The recent hype around Obsidian Entertainment’s new The Outer Worlds title has drawn an interesting point. AA developers can still lure the attention of the video game industry’s exponentially growing video game audience. It’s a good thing too, because we need those developers now more than ever. First off, before breaking down why we need smaller developers, let’s dig into why The Outer Worlds is getting so much attention right now. Obsidian Entertainment includes members of the development team involved in the original Fallout franchise. Video game titan Bethesda purchased the rights to the franchise before producing Fallout 3, Fallout Shelter, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.
