While candles are the primary currency in Sky: Children of the Light, hearts are how you can interact with your friends online. If you want to show your teammates some extra affection, then you are going to want to grab a few of these.

You can buy cosmetic items with hearts if you visit a spirit vendor. The number one way you get hearts within this game is by exchanging three candles for every heart. The issue here is that you can only collect a single heart from each spirit vendor in this fashion. We will discuss how to collect candles later within this guide.

Just before you make it to the Hidden Forest, there is also a graveyard that features a stone on which you can meditate for additional hearts. After you have collected hearts on your own, you will have to receive hearts from your friends if you hope to collect anymore.

The main currency in Sky: Children of the Light is candles. You’ll want to collect as many of these as possible, since they are used to purchase spells, upgrade expressions, and more. Luckily, candles aren’t too difficult to obtain.

Throughout the game world, you’ll find small red candles. Light each one you come across. This will release glowing orange orbs. Collect these orbs to fill your candle meter. Once full, tap the meter to earn a new candle. You can also light plants to generate orange orbs in the same way.

The catch is that the red candles and plants can only be used once per day. So be sure to revisit areas daily after they refresh to maximize candle earnings.

Another good candle source is the Valley of Triumph race, which can be run twice per day. You can also buy candles directly through the in-game store.

How to Get Candles

  • Complete quests and missions from spirits. Many will reward you with candles upon completion.
  • Help other players by lighting their constellations or guiding them through tricky areas. This random act of kindness may result in them sending candle gifts.
  • Unlock the Wise Grandparent spirit by collecting enough wing fragments. They will exchange heart fragments for candles daily.
  • Participate in seasonal events and adventures. Special events often have candles as rewards for completing certain tasks.
  • Upgrade your friendship level with spirits by giving them heart emojis. Higher friendships lead to more candle gift exchanges.
  • Collect seasonal candles during special events. These are used to unlock exclusive cosmetics.
  • Purchase adventure passes to gain access to more candle-earning opportunities and cosmetics.
  • Check behind certain story-related doors. They sometimes hide secret candle clusters.
  • Complete the daily quests from the Shrine of Dreams for bonus candles.
  • Save up Hearts by completing constellations and exchange for candles in bundles.

When not writing about people pelting each other in the face or about leveling up in the latest RPG, he tends to spend his time as a web producer in Atlanta.
